Slow, the new fast

"Slowness is not time-based. It doesn't refer to how long it takes to make or do something..."

The idea of slow appeals to me - I've found Mays Lick, Kentucky to be a great object lesson and books to be the perfect slow technology - so the idea of a slow laboratory grabbed my attention. Found via this Putting People First blog entry, the non-profit slowlab experiments with slow. It describes it as a series of a-chronologies - a relational, intentional, purposeful movement through time.

In the age of immaterialism slow is the new fast.
