Finalists for the Curry Stone Design Prize have been announced. Believing that "designers can be an instrumental force for improving people’s lives and the state of the world," the annual prize of $100,000 rewards the best in humanitarian design.
Luyanda Mpahlwa of MMA Architects in South Africa, who won the award in 2008, will be present during the announcement of this year's winner on September 24 at the IdeaFestival.
Prize secretary David Mohney discusses the prize in this video, part of the IdeaFestival Conversations series.
